Focusing on government priorities, including Labour’s strategy for clean energy and industrial growth, this webinar will offer critical insights for businesses and innovators looking to capitalise on the changes ahead.

Topics include

  • Labour’s Industrial Strategy and grant funding – Labour’s strategy prioritises investment in strategic industries such as high-value manufacturing, cleantech, and life sciences.
  • Becoming a clean energy superpower – Labour’s ambitious target is to decarbonise the power system by 2030, with significant investments in gigafactories for electric vehicle batteries, green hydrogen, carbon capture, and renewable energy such as offshore wind.
  • National Wealth Fund – Backed by £7.3 billion, Labour’s National Wealth Fund will drive investments in green industries, including £1.5 billion for gigafactories, £1 billion for carbon capture, and £500 million for green hydrogen. How will this look in practice?
  • Regional innovation – In previous Budgets, explicit investment was promised for Innovation Accelerators in cities like Glasgow, Manchester, and the West Midlands, aimed at boosting local economies through research and development. Will we see similar promises from Labour?
  • Life Sciences – The government’s strategy includes plans to boost innovation and manufacturing in the life sciences sector. We expect support for R&D and increased investment through public and private partnerships.
  • Great British Energy – This new, publicly owned entity will be central to delivering clean energy projects, helping the UK meet its ambitious climate targets and ensure energy security.
