Monday 22nd January 2018 – Today, Ayming, the international business performance consultancy, has been recognised for its work with Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and have been shortlisted for the “Performance Improvement in the Public Sector” award. The MCA Awards, administered by the Management Consultant Association, commend excellence across the UK’s management consultancy industry, which undoubtedly sits among the best in the world. Ayming has been recognised for its successful restructuring of GOSH’s procurement framework and its multi-phased modernisation strategy.
After a highly successful pilot project, Ayming used their strategic planning expertise and, by creating clear and reliable data, successfully eliminated interdepartmental stock ownership confusion and optimised inventory management processes, effectively reducing excessive stock levels. This made the procurement system drastically more efficient, organised and cost-effective, freeing up ever valuable time and capital for staff.
Mary Ann Padlam, Lead Nurse at GOSH says: “I’m delighted that more of my time has been freed up for patient care, rather than non-clinical administration and purchasing, as a result of the assessment and pilot project.”
Loretta Seamer, CFO at GOSH says: “The project and pilot run by Ayming has successfully created clarity for us over what was a particularly complex area. This will have a positive impact on Trust financials and operations. Ayming’s renovation of our internal systems couldn’t have come at a better time.”
Martin Hook, UK Managing Director of Ayming, said “When it comes to hospitals, particularly one of such a specialist nature, supply chain management is crucial – staff simply can’t run out of stock, so there is a danger of over compensation. Our work with Great Ormond Street Hospital has been a company triumph. Our operations performance team have profoundly transformed the renowned hospitals procurement and operations processes, streamlining day to day activity. We hope they can continue to do their outstanding work with newfound confidence. It was truly great knowing our work has had such a positive impact on the staff and thus, subsequently, the patients.”
